Vincent van Gogh
Born and raised in Brabant Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) is famous for his unique way of painting. In recent years he has gained a more prominent role in the 'Noordbrabants Museum'. The landscape and population of his native Brabant have influenced the themes he painted later in life. Which is reason enough to devote an exposition towards van Gogh’s source of inspiration. Starting from march 26, 2021 the museum opens a permanent exhibit called 'Van Gogh in Brabant', which will house paintings, letters, pictures, animations and other objects. The story of Van Gogh as a developing artist is told, which explores the relationship between the artist and his beloved Brabant.
Historical Highlights
Relive the past in the Saint John’s Cathedral. This elaborately decorated gothic church build between 1380 and 1520 is a unique building which hosts magnificent views from the belltower. De Moriaan
KLM, the Dutch royal airways, annually unveils a sculpture in Delft blue style which represents a unique building in the Netherlands. This year, on the company’s anniversary on the seventh of October, KLM chose the 800 year old 'Moriaan' building as inspiration for their sculpture. This building is situated only 67 metres from our hotel in city centre Den Bosch, come and marvel at the original Moriaan building.
