Parking and accessibility Den Bosch

05/05/2026

The historic city center of 's-Hertogenbosch attracts many visitors every year. From the iconic St. John’s Cathedral to the atmospheric Uilenburg district: it is a city where culture, gastronomy, and hospitality come together. Are you planning to book a hotel stay in Den Bosch? Then, of course, you’ll want to know the best way to reach the center, where you can park, and how to start your stay comfortably and sustainably. In this comprehensive article, we provide a complete overview of all the options regarding accessibility, parking garages, and parking in Den Bosch.

Accessibility of the city center by car

Den Bosch is centrally located in Brabant and is easy to reach from all directions. The city is connected via the A2 (Amsterdam - Maastricht), the A59 (Zierikzee - Oss) and the N65 (Tilburg - 's-Hertogenbosch). Thanks to clear signage and smart traffic control systems, you are efficiently guided to parking spaces, garages or transferiums.

Please note that the closure of the Zuid-Willemsvaart may affect accessibility to parts of the city center. The main routes to parking garages, hotels and the center remain accessible, but the approach routes are different from before. Therefore, follow the current diversion signs and check the latest traffic information from the municipality or your navigation app before departure.

The municipality is actively working on good traffic flow and safety, among other things through dynamic parking information along the access roads. These information boards provide real-time insight into the number of available spaces in the main parking garages, so you do not have to drive around the center unnecessarily.

For hotel guests, it is good to know that many hotels are easily accessible by car, even in the heart of the city. Please note: in parts of the center, car-restricted zones or environmental zones apply. Check in advance whether access passes or reserved parking spaces are available.

Parking in Den Bosch: street, garage and more

The city center of Den Bosch has a mix of parking options. Street parking is possible, there are several large parking garages and there are alternative solutions such as parking decks, private parking lots and parking spaces at shops or institutions.

Street parking: limited, but available

In and around the center, there are zones where you can park along the street, but these are scarce. Often they are exclusively for permit holders or the parking time is limited to 1 or 2 hours. The costs average around €3.50 per hour. Payment can be made by debit card, mobile parking (such as via Parkmobile or Yellowbrick) or contactless at the machine.

Street parking is particularly suitable for short stops, for example when checking in at your hotel or dropping off luggage. For a day of shopping or a weekend stay, a garage is usually a cheaper and more practical alternative.

Parking garages: wide choice and convenient location

There are various parking garages in and around the city center. The main ones are:

·      St.-Jan Parking Garage (Hekellaan): within walking distance of St. John's Cathedral and the Parade

·      Wolvenhoek Parking Garage: ideal for the northern city center and the Noordbrabants Museum

·      Arena Parking Garage: modern and spacious, near the Arena shopping area

·      Paleiskwartier Parking Garage: just outside the center, popular with commuters and business visitors

As a hotel guest, you can inquire in advance whether your hotel works with one of these garages. Some hotels offer discount cards or reserved spaces, including Hotel Central: Hotel Central parking.

P+R: affordable and sustainable alternative

Do you want to avoid the crowds in the city center? Then Park + Ride sites (P+R) are a smart solution. In Den Bosch, P+R Transferium Pettelaarpark is the best-known location. Here you can park for a low daily rate (€4 including a bus ticket for several people) and be in the center within 10 minutes.

Advantages of a P+R:

·      Cheaper than parking in the center

·      Less traffic congestion in the center

·      Lower CO2 emissions due to less driving around

·      Connection with city buses or (rental) bicycles

For visitors who value sustainability, this is an excellent middle ground: you park outside the center, but still have quick access to all facilities. Some hotels even offer pick-up and drop-off services or bicycle rental from the center.

Electric charging in the city center

Den Bosch is one of the frontrunners in making mobility more sustainable. More than 400 public charging points are available throughout the city, including in parking garages, residential areas and at public institutions.

Popular charging locations:

·      Arena Parking Garage: multiple charging spots

·      St.-Jan Parking Garage: charging options at the entrance

·      Station area: fast chargers from, among others, Fastned and Allego

Most charging spots can be used with charging cards from providers such as Shell Recharge, Plugsurfing or Vattenfall InCharge. Via apps, you can view availability in real time and possibly make a reservation.

Please note: charging spots are not regular parking spaces. Once your car is charged, you must move it. This prevents fines and makes the spot available again for others.

For hotel guests with an electric car, it is advisable to check with the hotel in advance whether they have their own charging points or work with a nearby garage.

Kiss & Ride zones: quick and practical

For the sake of completeness, anyone who only wants to drop someone off or
